The C5+ doesn't have nearly as many web pages devoted to it as the
ETX, and I for one consider that to be a travesty. <grin> I can't
remedy that on my own, but I'll at least start collecting a set of links
here, and maybe that will be one step toward encouraging future C5+
pages.
- Pietro Carboni has a web page devoted to all of Celestron's 5-inch
SCTs at
http://www.pietro.org/Astro_C5/c5_nexstar.htm. The page with
most of the info, which might be a bit hard to find at first, is the
Info-5 Links page, which contains links to onsite as well as offsite
pages.
- Stephen Tonkin bought a secondhand C5+ and has created a web page
for it at
http://www.astunit.com/tonkinsastro/c5/c5.htm. At Pietro's suggestion,
he's dubbed it the C5++, in honor of all the modifications he's made
to it.
- Jeff DeTray, otherwise known as "Astronomy Boy," uses a C5 mounted
on a CG-5 GEM. Though his web site at
http://www.astronomyboy.com/
is focused more on mount improvements (it has in particular an excellent
section on upgrading the CG-5 mount yourself), the C5 is his OTA.

- The ETX has an extensive unofficial home page, Weasner's Mighty
ETX Site, at
http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html.
It's got a much wider variety of stuff on it than this page, but then
again, he's been at it for quite a bit longer than I have.
- Eric Greene hosts a page on the big brother of the C5+, the C8, at
http://ngc1514.com/Celestron/.
In particular, the disassembly page looks interesting. However, the C8
isn't entirely like the C5+ internally.
